Data Conversion

What Actually Happens to Your Data When You Switch

Your loan book, your customer files, your inventory. This is the part of switching that keeps owners up at night, so here is exactly how it works at Bravo.

What transfers

Bravo's conversion team works directly with you, and with your previous vendor where needed, to move your records accurately and on time. Bravo has completed more than 1,000 migrations from PawnMaster, PawnMate, Hi-Tech, AIM, and nearly every other pawn and firearms system.

Customers

Your customer records move with you, so repeat customers are recognized at the counter from day one.

Loan history

Active and historical loans convert, so redemptions, renewals, and forfeitures continue without a gap.

Inventory

Store inventory converts so your shelves and your system agree at go live.

Transaction records

Your transaction history comes with you. You do not lose the record of how your store has operated.

Store and employee data moves too, and your onboarding manager configures permissions, loan terms, and compliance settings with you before go live.

How the conversion runs

  1. Mapping call

The team identifies your current system, what data it holds, and how it maps into Bravo. You keep running your store on the old system.

  2. Conversion

Bravo's conversion team moves the data. They have seen most systems many times, and for PawnMaster stores, the same experts who built and supported PawnMaster now run these migrations at Bravo.

  3. Validation pass

Before you ever ring a live sale, your converted data gets a validation review. You see your real customers, loans, and inventory in Bravo and confirm they are right.

  4. Cutover

On your chosen go live date, the counter switches to Bravo with your history already in place.

Common questions about data conversion

Who owns my data after I switch?

You do. Your customer, transaction, and compliance data is always yours. Bravo never claims ownership, and exports into 10 file formats including .xlsx and .csv.

Can I still look things up in my old system?

PawnMaster stores keep secure, read only access to their old system during and after migration, so historical records stay one search away while the team builds confidence in Bravo. For other systems, your converted history lives in Bravo and remains searchable there.

What if my old vendor will not cooperate?

Bravo's conversion team has moved stores off nearly every pawn and firearms system, including ones that make leaving difficult. The mapping call is where the team scopes exactly what is possible with your setup.

How long does conversion take?

It depends on your system and your data, and the mapping call is where the team scopes your timeline. Your store keeps operating on the old system the whole time. See the week by week breakdown on the first 30 days page for how a typical switch runs.
